Jose Tejada was taken to a Queens hospital

Police found Tejada, a 58-year-old College Point resident, lying in the roadway with severe bodily trauma, amNewYork reported. He was taken to NewYork-Presbyterian Queens Hospital in Flushing, where he was pronounced dead.

Records and press accounts describe the Dodge differently

The official crash record lists the stopped Dodge as a station wagon or sport utility vehicle, while amNewYork described it as a Dodge minivan. The official record lists a 2020 GMC SUV with front-end damage and a 2006 Dodge with rear-end damage.

The GMC driver remained at the scene and was arrested

amNewYork reported that Jimenez, 20, of College Point, remained at the scene and was arrested for aggravated driving without a license.

A crash near 28th Avenue and industrial destinations

The official record places the crash on Linden Place. amNewYork reported that police responded to Linden Place and 28th Avenue, near Interstate 678 and large parking lots serving destinations including the College Point Multiplex Cinema, the NYPD Police Academy, a state DMV office, an MTA bus depot and the New York Times distribution center.

amNewYork, citing NYC Crash Mapper, reported that 11 people had been injured in nine crashes near the intersection since 2012.
