A hit-and-run driver fatally hit 32-year-old Jasmine Hunter at about 1:17 a.m. on Nov. 19, 2023, after police said she stepped out of her car on the Bruckner Expressway in Soundview following a minor crash.

Police told the Daily News that Jasmine Hunter had pulled onto the shoulder of the westbound expressway near Exit 51 in Soundview after a minor crash, got out of her car, and was hit by a passing driver who left the scene. Police said she was thrown from the elevated roadway to Bronx River Avenue below. Medics took her to Jacobi Medical Center, where she died.
