Police described a passenger getting out on Flatbush Avenue
Police told ABC7 that a 45-year-old woman was riding in a black Cadillac traveling south in the middle lane of Flatbush Avenue when she exited near State Street just after 11 p.m. After she got out, a driver in a gray Chevrolet traveling south in the right lane hit her.
Brooklyn Paper, also citing police, identified the passenger as Trisha Chiriboga and reported that she opened the rear passenger-side door of a 2024 Cadillac stopped at a red light before a 29-year-old man driving a Chevrolet Malibu hit her.
Trisha Chiriboga died after the crash
The city crash record lists the person killed as a 45-year-old female occupant seated in the right rear passenger position. Brooklyn Paper identified her as Brooklyn resident Trisha Chiriboga.
Emergency medical personnel brought Chiriboga to New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Police reported no arrests as the investigation continued
ABC7 and Brooklyn Paper reported that both drivers remained at the scene. Both outlets said no arrests had been made and that the NYPD Highway Collision Investigation Squad was investigating.
