Wu was near home, and the driver remained at the scene

The Daily News and Gothamist identified the pedestrian as Chaosheng Wu, an 80-year-old neighborhood resident, and reported that he was struck about a block from his home.

Police said the 65-year-old driver stayed at the scene. The Daily News reported that she was not charged, and Gothamist reported that no arrests were made.

Signal and speed questions remained part of the record

The city crash record lists Wu as crossing against the signal and cites pedestrian error or confusion. Gothamist reported that police were still investigating how fast the driver was going and what the traffic signals showed at the time.
