The rider was identified as Salvador Nico-Garcia

Authorities identified the rider killed as Salvador Nico-Garcia, a Bronx resident. The official record, West Side Spirit and ABC7 list him as 43; the Daily News reported his age as 47.

The pedestrian was described in news reports as a 41-year-old. West Side Spirit reported a minor left-hand abrasion and said the pedestrian refused treatment at the scene; ABC7 and the Daily News also described a minor hand injury.

The official record lists an e-bike

The city crash record identifies the rider's vehicle as an Arrow e-bike, traveling north and going straight ahead before the crash. ABC7 reported that Nico-Garcia was on an e-bike and was not wearing a helmet when he was thrown, while noting that riders older than 14 are not required to wear one.
