Driver Dies After Bronx Bruckner Crash Involving Two Trucks

Police said the driver lost control on a curve
The crash happened at about 4:39 a.m. on Dec. 5, 2025, at Bruckner Boulevard and Whittier Street in the Bronx, according to the city crash record. Police told the Daily News that Angie Miguel was driving a white 2016 Infiniti sedan with two passengers when she failed to navigate a curve and began spinning toward two large trucks that were slowing for a red light.
News 12 reported that Miguel was driving the Infiniti when she crashed with a white box truck and that a tractor-trailer was also involved moments later, while investigators were still determining how. The Daily News account said the driver’s side of the Infiniti crashed into the rear of one truck and that one truck was pushed into the truck ahead.
One driver died and four other people were hospitalized
The city crash record identifies the person killed as a 29-year-old woman who was driving the sedan. The Daily News and News 12 identified her as Angie Miguel.
Miguel’s mother told the Daily News that Miguel had been returning to New Haven, Connecticut, after attending a concert.
Unsafe speed was cited in the official record
The city crash record lists unsafe speed as a contributing factor. Police also told the Daily News that Miguel was traveling at an unsafe, high rate of speed when the Bruckner section curved to the right over the Bronx River.
Bruckner Boulevard has a long record of serious crashes
The crash was recorded at Bruckner Boulevard and Whittier Street in the Bronx. The Daily News placed it near Whittier Street in Soundview, while News 12 and El Diario described the area as near Sheridan Avenue or Sheridan Boulevard.
