Hospital care and investigation

Medics took the 40-year-old man to Staten Island University Hospital, where he died.

The 51-year-old driver stayed at the scene. The Daily News and El Diario reported no immediate arrests; the Post reported no charges had been filed hours later. The Post said the NYPD Collision Investigation Squad was investigating.
