Oleksandr Darii was identified as the rider who died

The Brooklyn Eagle identified Darii as a 39-year-old Bath Beach resident. EMS took him to NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn, where he was pronounced dead.

A Brooklyn Eagle report, citing a GoFundMe created by a friend, said Darii had come to the United States from Ukraine with his family three years earlier and lived in Brooklyn with his wife Oksana Dario and their 5-year-old son, Pavlik.
