ABC7 and Patch described the other vehicle as a 2024 Chevy Tahoe operated by a 63-year-old man. Police said the Tahoe driver remained at the scene and was not injured.

Reports placed the crash at West 112th Street and Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Boulevard in South Harlem, near the border of Harlem and Morningside Heights. The New York Post described the location as about two blocks north of Central Park.

The Daily News reported that Kayvon lived only a couple of blocks from the crash site, in the Taft Houses.
