Norwood News, citing the NYPD, reported that a rider on an electric stand-up scooter hit 50-year-old Wilmary Carrion at White Plains Road and East Gun Hill Road in Williamsbridge at 4:19 p.m. on July 20, 2026. Police said Carrion was crossing White Plains Road from east to west in a marked crosswalk. The rider left the scene, and police said there had been no arrests as the investigation continued. Carrion was taken to Jacobi Hospital in critical condition and died on July 24. Family members and Montefiore hospital officials identified her as a longtime Montefiore employee from Longwood.
The crash happened at a busy Williamsbridge intersection

Carrion was taken to Jacobi and died four days later
